Korean for Parcel Pickup: Asking Whether Your Package Is Being Held

Learn polite Korean patterns to check if a parcel is waiting at a convenience store or pickup point, using 보관, 맡기다 and 찾다.

Includes practice questions and sample answers.

When a delivery is routed to a convenience store or a designated pickup spot, you often arrive without knowing whether the parcel has actually reached that location. This lesson gives you polite, formal Korean questions to confirm that a package is being held for you, to ask how long it can stay there, and to explain that you have come to collect it. You will practise the verbs 보관하다 (to keep, store), 맡기다 (to leave something with someone) and 찾다 (to look for, to pick up), and you will learn how these three words divide the work of a pickup conversation. The focus is on speaking clearly to staff at a counter, not on quoting company rules, so you can adapt the same sentences to different shops and pickup points.

    By the end, you can…

    • ask politely whether my parcel is being held at a specific pickup point.
    • ask until when a parcel can be kept there.
    • explain that I have come to collect a parcel and give the name or phone number on the order.

    Words you’ll actually use

Listen once. Try it slowly. Then say it without looking.

    Checking available voices…

Is my parcel being held here?

    yeo-gi-e je taek-bae mat-gyeo-jyeo i-sseo-yo?

The most direct way to check at a convenience store or pickup counter. 맡겨져 있어요 literally means 'has been left (with someone) and is here'.

Until when will it be kept?

    eon-je-kka-ji bo-gwan-dwae-yo?

Use this after confirming the parcel is there. It asks about the storage period without quoting any specific policy.

I'm here to pick up a parcel.

    taek-bae cha-jeu-reo wa-sseo-yo.

A natural opening line at the counter. 찾으러 왔어요 means 'I came in order to find/collect it'.

Is there a parcel that arrived under my name?

    je i-reu-meu-ro on taek-bae-ga i-sseo-yo?

Useful when you are not sure the parcel has arrived yet. You can replace 제 이름으로 with a phone number if the order was placed under a number.

Could you check whether it is being kept here?

    bo-gwan jung-in-ji hwa-gin-hae ju-sil su i-sseo-yo?

A polite request when the staff member has not found it immediately. 보관 중인지 means 'whether it is in storage'.

Pronunciation guides are approximate. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.

    Make it make sense

    Useful pattern

The pattern 여기에 제 택배 맡겨져 있어요? combines 여기에 (here), 제 택배 (my parcel) and the passive form 맡겨져 있어요. 맡기다 means 'to leave something in someone's care', and its passive 맡겨지다 describes the parcel as having been left there. Use this exact pattern when you are standing at the counter and want a yes-or-no answer. If you already know the parcel is there and only need the deadline, switch to 언제까지 보관돼요? Here 보관되다 is the passive of 보관하다, 'to keep or store', so the question asks how long the item will remain in storage. Both sentences are polite formal style because they end in -요 and use no casual shortening.

    When to use it

Start with 택배 찾으러 왔어요 when you reach the counter, because it tells staff why you are there. Then ask 여기에 제 택배 맡겨져 있어요? to confirm arrival. If the answer is yes, follow with 언제까지 보관돼요? to learn the storage window, and be ready to give your name or phone number with 제 이름으로 온 택배가 있어요? If the staff member cannot find it, use This sequence keeps the conversation polite and concrete. Avoid asking about refunds, fees or company rules; those depend on the individual shop and are not part of this language task.

    A conversation you could have

Listen to each line, then take one part and reply out loud.

    A

    Hello, I'm here to pick up a parcel.an-nyeong-ha-se-yo, taek-bae cha-jeu-reo wa-sseo-yo.
    B

Yes, please tell me your name or phone number.ne, seong-ha-mi-na jeon-hwa-beon-ho al-lyeo ju-se-yo.
    A

Is my parcel being held here?yeo-gi-e je taek-bae mat-gyeo-jyeo i-sseo-yo?
    B

    Yes, it is in storage.ne, bo-gwan jung-i-e-yo.

A little context goes a long way

Convenience stores and designated pickup spots often act as a middle point between the courier and the customer, so staff expect short, practical questions rather than long explanations. Using polite -요 endings and 주세요 requests keeps the exchange smooth. Because storage periods and procedures differ by shop and by courier, ask the staff directly instead of assuming a fixed rule. Address staff neutrally; you do not need to know their age or role to speak politely.

    One thing to watch for

Using 찾다 to mean 'to keep' and asking 여기에 제 택배 찾아요?

Try this instead: 찾다 means 'to look for' or 'to pick up', so 여기에 제 택배 찾아요? sounds like you are searching for it, not asking whether it is stored. To say you have come to collect it, use 찾으러 왔어요.

    Your turn

Try answering out loud before checking a possible answer.

1You are at a convenience store counter and want to know if your parcel is being held there. What do you say?

    Show a sample answer

This directly asks whether the parcel has been left and is currently at this location. 보관돼 있어요? is also acceptable when you want to emphasise storage rather than the act of leaving it.

2The staff member says the parcel is there. How do you ask how long it can stay?

    Show a sample answer

This asks about the storage deadline politely. You could also ask 며칠까지 보관돼요? if you want to frame the answer in days.

3You are not sure the parcel has arrived and want to check under your name. What sentence fits?

    Show a sample answer

This asks whether a parcel arrived under your name. Replacing 제 이름으로 with a phone number is equally natural when the order was registered under a number.

    Take this with you

Open with 택배 찾으러 왔어요, confirm with 여기에 제 택배 맡겨져 있어요?, then ask 언제까지 보관돼요? Keep 찾다 for collecting, 맡기다 for leaving the parcel, and 보관 for storage.
