Chinese for Parcel Pickup: Ask Staff to Find Your Package by Phone Number

Learn polite beginner Chinese to ask courier station staff to look up your parcel using your phone number and its last four digits, then confirm it is yours.

Includes practice questions and sample answers.
A warm illustrated language study space

At a staffed pickup point in mainland China, the fastest way to get help is to greet the staff, make a polite request, and give your phone number or just its last four digits. This lesson teaches a small set of reusable spoken patterns: 你好 to open, 麻烦帮我查一下 to ask for a check, 手机号 for your full number, 尾号 for the last digits, and 有没有我的快递 to confirm a parcel is waiting for you. You will also learn how to answer simple follow-up questions such as 手机号是多少 and 叫什么名字. The register is polite but casual, which fits everyday courier stations. Keep your number ready, speak slowly, and repeat the digits clearly if asked.

    By the end, you can…

    • politely ask staff to check for my parcel using 麻烦帮我查一下.
    • give my phone number or its last four digits clearly using 手机号 and 尾号.
    • ask whether a parcel is waiting for me with 有没有我的快递.
    • answer simple follow-up questions about my number or name.

    Words you’ll actually use

Listen once. Try it slowly. Then say it without looking.

    Checking available voices…

    你好,麻烦帮我查一下。

    Hello, please help me check.

Nǐ hǎo, máfan bāng wǒ chá yíxià.

A polite, natural opener at a staffed counter. 麻烦 softens the request; 一下 makes it sound light and casual.

    我的手机号是……

    My phone number is…

    Wǒ de shǒujīhào shì…

Use this when staff ask for your full number. Say the digits in groups, for example 138… 1234… 5678.

    尾号是八八九九。

The last four digits are 8899.

Wěihào shì bā bā jiǔ jiǔ.

尾号 means the ending digits of your phone number. Say each digit separately and clearly.

    有没有我的快递?

Is there a parcel for me?

    Yǒu méiyǒu wǒ de kuàidì?

快递 here means a parcel or delivery. Use this to confirm something is waiting before you search.

    我叫王明。

    My name is Wang Ming.

    Wǒ jiào Wáng Míng.

A simple answer if staff ask 叫什么名字. Use your name as it appears on the parcel.

Pronunciation guides are approximate. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.

    Make it make sense

    Useful pattern

The core pattern is 麻烦帮我 + verb + 一下. 麻烦 makes a request polite without being formal, 帮我 means help me, and 一下 softens the action. For example, 麻烦帮我查一下 means please help me check. You can swap the verb for other needs: 麻烦帮我看一下 (please help me take a look) or 麻烦帮我找一下 (please help me look for it). At a pickup counter, 麻烦帮我查一下 is enough on its own after 你好. If you want to be specific, add 我的快递: 麻烦帮我查一下我的快递. Keep the tone friendly and your voice calm; staff hear this pattern all day and will understand immediately.

    When to use it

Use 手机号 when you give your full number and 尾号 when you give only the last digits. Many stations can search by either, so offer your full number first: 我的手机号是…… If the staff ask 尾号是多少, answer with four digits, one by one: 尾号是八八九九. To confirm a parcel is waiting, ask 有没有我的快递. If they need your name, answer 我叫…… and say it clearly. If you are not sure whether the parcel has arrived, you can ask 到了吗 (has it arrived?) after giving your number. These short questions keep the exchange simple and polite.

    A conversation you could have

Listen to each line, then take one part and reply out loud.

    A

    你好,麻烦帮我查一下我的快递。

Hello, please help me check my parcel.Nǐ hǎo, máfan bāng wǒ chá yíxià wǒ de kuàidì.
    B

    好的,手机号是多少?

Okay, what is your phone number?Hǎo de, shǒujīhào shì duōshao?
    A

    我的手机号是13812345678。

My phone number is 13812345678.Wǒ de shǒujīhào shì yāo sān bā yāo èr sān sì wǔ liù qī bā.
    B

    好的,尾号是5678,对吗?

Okay, the last four digits are 5678, right?Hǎo de, wěihào shì wǔ liù qī bā, duì ma?

A little context goes a long way

At mainland courier stations, staff are used to quick, practical exchanges. A short 你好 plus 麻烦 keeps things polite without sounding stiff. Reading your number digit by digit is normal; for 1 in phone numbers, many people say yāo instead of yī to avoid confusion. If the station is busy, have your number ready and speak clearly rather than repeating the whole request.

    One thing to watch for

Saying 我的电话号码是…… and then reading the number in a fast, connected way.

Try this instead: Use 我的手机号是…… and say each digit separately, pausing in small groups: 138… 1234… 5678. For the last four digits, say 尾号是八八九九, not a single rushed number. This helps staff type it correctly the first time.

    Your turn

Try answering out loud before checking a possible answer.

1You want staff to check your parcel. What polite sentence can you use?

    Show a sample answer

    你好,麻烦帮我查一下我的快递。

This uses 你好 to greet, 麻烦 to soften, 帮我查一下 to ask for a check, and 我的快递 to name the item. 麻烦帮我查一下 alone is also fine.

2Staff ask 尾号是多少. Your number ends in 2468. What do you say?

    Show a sample answer

    尾号是二四六八。

尾号 means the last digits, and each digit is said separately. You could also say 尾号是2468, but spoken digits are clearer.

3You are not sure if your parcel has arrived. What question can you ask after giving your number?

    Show a sample answer

    有没有我的快递?

This directly asks whether a parcel is waiting for you. 到了吗 (has it arrived?) is another natural follow-up in this situation.

    Take this with you

Greet with 你好, request with 麻烦帮我查一下, give your 手机号 or 尾号 clearly digit by digit, and confirm with 有没有我的快递.
