How to Ask for a Spanish Audio Guide in Mandarin Chinese
Learn to ask 有西班牙语的语音导览吗? and to understand rental terms like 租 and 押金 at museums and landmarks in Mandarin-speaking regions.

At many museums and historic sites in Mandarin-speaking regions, you can borrow a handheld device that plays recorded explanations in your chosen language. This is not the same as a guided tour with a live person. In this lesson you will learn one core question, 有西班牙语的语音导览吗? (Do you have a Spanish audio guide?), plus the words you need to understand rental: 租 (to rent), 押金 (deposit), and 免费 (free). You will also learn how to say your language, ask about the price, and return the device. The focus is elementary, polite, and practical, so you can use these lines at a ticket counter or information desk right away.
By the end, you can…
- ask whether a Spanish audio guide is available.
- understand and use 租, 押金, and 免费 when renting an audio guide.
- ask how much the rental costs and where to return the device.
Listen once. Try it slowly. Then say it without looking.

有西班牙语的语音导览吗?
Do you have a Spanish audio guide?
yǒu xībānyá yǔ de yǔyīn dǎolǎn ma
The main question. 语音导览 means audio guide; 西班牙语 means Spanish language. Add 吗 at the end to make it a yes/no question.
我想租一个语音导览。
I would like to rent an audio guide.
wǒ xiǎng zū yí ge yǔyīn dǎolǎn
Use 租 (zū) for renting. 一个 means one (item). This is polite and common at a counter.
租金是多少?
How much is the rental fee?
zūjīn shì duōshao
租金 means rental fee. 是多少 asks for an amount. You can also ask 多少钱? (duōshao qián).
需要押金吗?
Is a deposit required?
xūyào yājīn ma
押金 means deposit. This question is useful because some places require a deposit or an ID card.
在哪里还?
Where do I return it?
zài nǎli huán
还 (huán) means to return an object. Use this when you are finished and need to give the device back.
Pronunciation guides are approximate. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.
Make it make sense
Useful pattern
The pattern 有……吗? (yǒu ... ma) means 'Do you have ...?' Put the item or language before 吗. For example, 有英语的语音导览吗? (yǒu yīngyǔ de yǔyīn dǎolǎn ma) means 'Do you have an English audio guide?' and 有中文的语音导览吗? (yǒu zhōngwén de yǔyīn dǎolǎn ma) means 'Do you have a Chinese audio guide?' To name a language, use the language plus 语, as in 西班牙语 (Spanish), 法语 (French), or 日语 (Japanese). The word 的 connects the language to the noun: 西班牙语的语音导览. If you want to say 'I want to rent', use 我想租…… (wǒ xiǎng zū ...).
When to use it
Use these lines at a ticket counter, information desk, or audio guide station. Start with 有西班牙语的语音导览吗? If the answer is 有 (yǒu, we have it), you can say 我想租一个 (wǒ xiǎng zū yí ge, I'd like to rent one). Then ask 租金是多少? and 需要押金吗? If the staff says 免费 (miǎnfèi, free), you do not pay a rental fee, but you may still need to leave a deposit or an ID card. When you finish, ask 在哪里还? and follow the signs. If the answer is 没有 (méiyǒu, we don't have it), you can ask about another language or a guided tour instead.
Listen to each line, then take one part and reply out loud.
你好,有西班牙语的语音导览吗?
Hello, do you have a Spanish audio guide?nǐ hǎo, yǒu xībānyá yǔ de yǔyīn dǎolǎn ma有。租金是二十块,押金一百块。
Yes. The rental fee is twenty yuan, and the deposit is one hundred yuan.yǒu. zūjīn shì èrshí kuài, yājīn yìbǎi kuài好的,我想租一个。在哪里还?
Okay, I'd like to rent one. Where do I return it?hǎo de, wǒ xiǎng zū yí ge. zài nǎli huán在一楼出口还。请出示护照。
Return it at the exit on the first floor. Please show your passport.zài yī lóu chūkǒu huán. qǐng chūshì hùzhàoA little context goes a long way
In mainland China, prices are usually quoted in 块 (kuài) in speech and 元 (yuán) on signs; both mean the same currency unit. Museums often require a passport or ID card as a deposit, and some keep it until you return the device. In Taiwan, Mandarin is also spoken, but you may hear 導覽 instead of 导览 and 押金 is still common. Politeness is shown with 请 (qǐng, please) and 谢谢 (xièxie, thank you), not by changing verb forms.
One thing to watch for
Using 导游 (dǎoyóu) when you mean an audio guide, as in 有西班牙语的导游吗?
Try this instead: 导游 means a live tour guide, a person. For the recorded device, say 语音导览 (yǔyīn dǎolǎn). Correct: 有西班牙语的语音导览吗? If you actually want a live guide, then ask 有西班牙语的导游吗?
Your turn
Try answering out loud before checking a possible answer.

有西班牙语的语音导览吗?
This uses 有……吗? with 西班牙语的语音导览. You could also ask 有没有西班牙语的语音导览? (yǒu méiyǒu xībānyá yǔ de yǔyīn dǎolǎn), which is equally natural.
2The staff says 租金是二十块,押金一百块。 What do you pay as a deposit?
Show a sample answer
One hundred yuan (一百块).
押金 means deposit, and 一百块 is one hundred yuan. The 租金 (twenty yuan) is the rental fee, which is separate.
3You want to rent one audio guide. What do you say?
Show a sample answer
我想租一个语音导览。
我想租 means 'I would like to rent', and 一个 means 'one'. You can also say 我想租一个 (wǒ xiǎng zū yí ge) if the item is already clear from context.
Ask 有西班牙语的语音导览吗? first, then use 租, 租金, and 押金 to handle the rental. Remember that 语音导览 is a device, while 导游 is a person.
