In this workshop you practise a short shop conversation in Chinese. You will ask for a SIM card with data, ask how much it costs per month, and respond when a staff member asks for your passport. The native lines are short, so you can focus on clear pronunciation and on answering the right question at the right time. You can play both roles with the audio, but there is no automatic assessment, so use the answer keys to check yourself.
What the key lines mean
Before speaking, make sure you understand the meaning of each line you will use. «我需要一张带流量的手机卡。» means that the speaker needs a SIM card that includes data. «这个套餐有多少流量?» asks how much data a plan has. «一个月多少钱?» asks how much the plan costs each month. «我有护照。» states that the speaker has a passport. In the shop scene, «你好,我需要一张带流量的手机卡。» is the customer opening the conversation by greeting the staff member and saying they need a SIM card with data. «好的。这个套餐有三十个G的流量,一个月九十九块。» is the staff member replying with the plan details: 30 GB of data and 99 yuan per month. «一个月多少钱?我有护照。» is the customer asking the monthly price and adding that they have a passport. «九十九块。请给我看你的护照。» is the staff member confirming 99 yuan and asking to see the passport. Notice that the customer asks for information first, and the staff member answers and then makes a request.
How to practise the exchange
Read the lines in the order they appear in the scene. The customer speaks first with «你好,我需要一张带流量的手机卡。», then the staff member answers with «好的。 . After that, the customer asks about the monthly price and mentions the passport with «一个月多少钱? , and the staff member replies with «九十九块。 . Keep the order the same even when you swap roles: the question still comes before the reply, and the reply still comes before the follow-up. Speak each line slowly at first, then repeat it at a natural speed. When you say «一个月多少钱?», make the question clear by keeping your voice steady and pausing briefly at the end. When you say «我有护照。», keep it simple and direct. If you are practising alone, you can say the customer lines aloud and listen to the staff lines, then swap and say the staff lines aloud.
Listen once, then say the phrase yourself. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.

Okay. This plan has 30 GB of data, 99 yuan per month.
How much is it per month? I have a passport.
99 yuan. Please show me your passport.Your turn
Try each prompt out loud. Choose a guided start, the full sequence, or a challenge pass after your first attempt.
Guided shop exchange
Imagine you are the customer in a phone shop. The staff member is ready to help you. You will speak first, then listen to the staff reply, then ask your follow-up question.
Your task: Say the customer opening line «你好,我需要一张带流量的手机卡。». Then listen to or read the staff reply «好的。 . After that, say the customer follow-up «一个月多少钱? . Finally, listen to or read the staff response «九十九块。 .
Choose the right reply
You are the customer and you have just asked how much the plan costs per month. The staff member gives you a reply. Choose the response that matches the staff line.
Your task: Read or listen to the staff line «九十九块。 . Then choose the best customer response from these two options: A) «我有护照。» Say your chosen line aloud.
Recall with correct roles
Now practise the whole scene from memory. Decide who is the customer and who is the staff member. You can play both roles with the audio, but there is no automatic assessment.
Your task: Without looking at the lines, say the customer opening request «你好,我需要一张带流量的手机卡。». Then say the staff plan details «好的。 . Then say the customer price question with the passport «一个月多少钱? . Then say the staff price confirmation and passport request «九十九块。 . If you are working with a partner, swap roles and repeat the same order.
Common questions
Can I practise alone if I am not sure how to pronounce the lines?
Yes. Listen to each recorded line first, then repeat it slowly. Start with the customer lines «你好,我需要一张带流量的手机卡。» , then try the staff lines «好的。 . You can play both roles with the audio, but there is no automatic assessment, so use the answer keys to check the order and meaning.
What should I say first when I enter the shop?
Begin with the customer opening line «你好,我需要一张带流量的手机卡。», which greets the staff member and says you need a SIM card with data. Wait for the staff reply «好的。 before you ask your follow-up question «一个月多少钱? . Do not start with the passport line, because the passport is mentioned after the price question.
