Includes practice questions and sample answers.
A warm illustrated language study space

You've just picked up your printing job at a neighborhood print shop, and when you flip through the pages, you notice something is wrong: pages are missing. You need to tell the staff clearly and politely, but you also want them to fix it. In this lesson, you'll learn the key Spanish phrases to report missing pages, specify which ones are absent, and request a reprint. We'll focus on polite but firm language that works in Latin American Spanish, so you can handle the situation confidently without sounding rude or overly apologetic.

    By the end, you can…

    • say that pages are missing in Spanish.
    • specify which page numbers didn't print.
    • politely ask for a reprint of the missing pages.

    Words you’ll actually use

Listen once. Try it slowly. Then say it without looking.

    Checking available voices…

    Faltan páginas.

    Pages are missing.

    FAHL-tahn PAH-hee-nahs

Use this to state the general problem. It's neutral and direct.

    No salió la página 5.

    Page 5 didn't print.

    noh sah-LYOH lah PAH-hee-nah SEEN-koh

Use 'no salió' to say a specific page didn't come out. Replace '5' with the actual page number.

¿Puede reimprimir las páginas que faltan?

Can you reprint the missing pages?

    PWEH-deh reh-eem-pree-MEER lahs PAH-hee-nahs keh FAHL-tahn

Polite request for a reprint. Use 'puede' (you can) for a formal tone.

    Faltan las páginas 5 y 6.

Pages 5 and 6 are missing.

    FAHL-tahn lahs PAH-hee-nahs SEEN-koh ee SEH-ees

Specify multiple missing pages by listing them after 'las páginas'.

¿Me lo puede reimprimir, por favor?

Can you reprint it for me, please?

    meh loh PWEH-deh reh-eem-pree-MEER por fah-BOR

Use this to ask for a reprint of the whole job or a specific part. 'Lo' refers to the printed item.

Pronunciation guides are approximate. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.

    Make it make sense

    Useful pattern

To report missing pages, use 'Faltan' + pages. For example, 'Faltan páginas' (Pages are missing) or 'Faltan las páginas 5 y 6' (Pages 5 and 6 are missing). To say a specific page didn't print, use 'No salió la página' + number, like 'No salió la página 5'. These patterns are straightforward and widely understood.

    When to use it

Use these phrases when you're at the print shop and have just received your copies. Start with 'Faltan páginas' to get the staff's attention, then specify which ones with 'No salió la página...' or 'Faltan las páginas...'. Finally, ask for a reprint with '¿Puede reimprimir...?' This sequence is polite and clear, and it helps the staff understand exactly what went wrong.

    A conversation you could have

Listen to each line, then take one part and reply out loud.

    A

Buenas tardes, acabo de recoger mi impresión y faltan páginas.

Good afternoon, I just picked up my printing and pages are missing.BWEH-nahs TAR-dehs, ah-KAH-boh deh reh-koh-HER mee eem-preh-SYOHN ee FAHL-tahn PAH-hee-nahs
    B

    ¿Qué páginas faltan?

    Which pages are missing?keh PAH-hee-nahs FAHL-tahn
    A

No salió la página 5 y también falta la 6.

    Page 5 didn't print and page 6 is also missing.noh sah-LYOH lah PAH-hee-nah SEEN-koh ee tahm-BYEN FAHL-tah lah SEH-ees
    B

    Lo siento. ¿Se lo reimprimo?

    I'm sorry. Shall I reprint it for you?loh SYEN-toh. seh loh reh-eem-PREE-moh

A little context goes a long way

In Latin American Spanish, it's common to use 'usted' with staff you don't know, especially in a service setting. Using 'puede' instead of 'puedes' maintains a polite but firm tone. In some regions, like Mexico, '¿Me lo puede reimprimir?' is very natural. In Argentina, you might hear '¿Me lo podés reimprimir?' using 'vos', but 'usted' is still safe and respectful.

    One thing to watch for

Saying 'Estoy faltando páginas' to mean 'I am missing pages.'

Try this instead: Use 'Faltan páginas' or 'Me faltan páginas'. 'Estoy faltando' means 'I am missing' as in not attending, which is not what you want. For example, say 'Faltan páginas' to state the problem.

    Your turn

Try answering out loud before checking a possible answer.

1How would you say 'Page 10 didn't print' in Spanish?

    Show a sample answer

    No salió la página 10.

This uses the pattern 'No salió la página' + number. You could also say 'La página 10 no salió', which is equally correct.

2You need to tell the staff that pages 3 and 4 are missing. What do you say?

    Show a sample answer

    Faltan las páginas 3 y 4.

This clearly states which pages are missing. Alternatively, you could say 'No salieron las páginas 3 y 4' to emphasize they didn't print.

3How do you politely ask for a reprint of the missing pages?

    Show a sample answer

¿Puede reimprimir las páginas que faltan?

This is a polite request using 'puede'. You could also say '¿Me las puede reimprimir?' if you've already mentioned the pages.

    Take this with you

When pages are missing after printing, say 'Faltan páginas' to report the issue, specify with 'No salió la página...' or 'Faltan las páginas...', and ask for a reprint with '¿Puede reimprimir...?' Keep it polite but firm.
