The core pattern is [place] + 이/가 어디예요? meaning 'Where is [place]?' The subject particle 이 comes after a consonant and 가 after a vowel: 지하철역이 어디예요? (ji-ha-cheol-lyeok-i eo-di-ye-yo?) and 화장실이 어디예요? (hwa-jang-sil-i eo-di-ye-yo?, 'Where is the restroom?'). To say 'nearest,' put 가장 가까운 (ga-jang ga-kka-un) before the noun: 가장 가까운 지하철역 (ga-jang ga-kka-un ji-ha-cheol-lyeok). The word 가까운 means 'near,' and 가장 means 'most.'
When to use it
Use the full question 가장 가까운 지하철역이 어디예요? when you are not sure which station is closest. If you already see a station sign, the shorter 지하철역이 어디에 있어요? is enough. When someone answers with a station name, follow up with 걸어서 몇 분이에요? to learn the walking time. If the answer is too fast, say 다시 한 번 말씀해 주세요. In busy areas, adding 죄송하지만 (joe-song-ha-ji-man, 'sorry, but') at the start sounds polite.

Politeness matters in Korean. Use the -요 ending with strangers, and add 죄송하지만 or 실례합니다 (sil-lye-ham-ni-da) before interrupting someone. Station names are often said with the line number, such as 2호선 (i-ho-seon, 'Line 2'), so listen for a number plus 호선.
One thing to watch for
Saying 지하철역은 어디예요? with the topic particle 은/는 when asking a stranger for the first time.
Try this instead: For a direct question about location, 이/가 is the natural choice: 지하철역이 어디예요? (ji-ha-cheol-lyeok-i eo-di-ye-yo?). The topic particle 은/는 is better when you are contrasting or already talking about the station, for example 지하철역은 저쪽에 있어요 (ji-ha-cheol-lyeok-eun jeo-jjok-e i-sseo-yo, 'The subway station is over there').
