Practice announcing good news in Spanish and reacting with excitement using short, real recorded lines.

Free lesson path Phrase audioNo sign-up needed

In this speaking workshop, you will practice two friendly roles: the person sharing good news and the friend who reacts. You will hear short recorded lines and use them as models for your own speaking. The lines cover announcing a job, announcing a move, and reacting with excitement. You do not need to invent new phrases. Instead, you will repeat, choose, and recall the recorded expressions in realistic mini-scenes. This helps you speak with better rhythm and confidence. Before each task, read the English meaning of every recorded line so you know exactly what you are saying. Then say the lines out loud, copy the emotion, and check yourself with the answer key.

Warm-up: Listen and Copy the Feeling

Start by listening to each recorded line and reading its English meaning. The line «¡Conseguí el trabajo!» means "I got the job!" It is a short, happy announcement. The line «¡Nos mudamos!» means "We're moving!" It can announce a near-future plan. The line «¡Qué buena noticia!» means "What good news!" It is a warm reaction you can use for many positive announcements. The line «¡Felicidades!» means "Congratulations!" It is a standard way to celebrate someone. Say each line out loud two times. First, say it slowly and clearly. Then, say it with real excitement. Notice how your voice rises when you are happy. Keep your tone friendly and natural. Do not rush. Clear pronunciation matters more than speed.

    Guided Exchange: Share and React

Now practice a short exchange with two roles. In the first role, you share good news. In the second role, you react like a supportive friend. Use the recorded lines as your script. The line «¡Oye! ¡Conseguí el trabajo en la oficina nueva!» means "Hey! I got the job at the new office!" It starts the conversation with energy. The line «¡No manches! ¡Felicidades! ¿Cuándo empiezas?» means "No way! Congratulations! When do you start?" It shows surprise, congratulations, and a follow-up question. The line «El lunes. Y mi familia y yo nos mudamos a Monterrey el mes que viene.» means "On Monday. And my family and I are moving to Monterrey next month." It adds more good news. The line «¡Qué emoción! ¡Estoy muy feliz por ti!» means "How exciting! I'm very happy for you!" It closes the exchange with warm support. Read each line, then say it without looking. You can play both roles alone, or switch roles with a partner.

Reply Comprehension: Choose the Best Response

In a real conversation, you need to understand what you hear before you reply. Listen to a recorded line and choose a response that fits. For example, if you hear «¡Conseguí el trabajo!», a good reaction is «¡Qué buena noticia!» or «¡Felicidades!». If you hear «¡Nos mudamos!», a good reaction is also «¡Qué buena noticia!» or «¡Felicidades!». If you hear «¡Oye! ¡Conseguí el trabajo en la oficina nueva!», a natural reply is «¡No manches! ¡Felicidades! ¿Cuándo empiezas?». If you hear «El lunes. Y mi familia y yo nos mudamos a Monterrey el mes que viene.», a warm reply is «¡Qué emoción! ¡Estoy muy feliz por ti!». Pay attention to the speaker's role. The person who shares news uses «¡Conseguí el trabajo!», «¡Nos mudamos!», «¡Oye! ¡Conseguí el trabajo en la oficina nueva!», or «El lunes. Y mi familia y yo nos mudamos a Monterrey el mes que viene.». The person who reacts uses «¡Qué buena noticia!», «¡Felicidades!», «¡No manches! ¡Felicidades! ¿Cuándo empiezas?», or «¡Qué emoción! ¡Estoy muy feliz por ti!». This role separation helps you answer correctly. You can pause the audio and say your chosen response out loud before checking the answer key.

Recall and Role Swap: Say It From Memory

You will recall the recorded lines without reading them. Then you will swap roles to make sure you know who says what.

Your task: First, say «¡Conseguí el trabajo!», «¡Nos mudamos!», «¡Qué buena noticia!», and «¡Felicidades!» from memory. Then say the full exchange from memory: «¡Oye! ¡Conseguí el trabajo en la oficina nueva!», «¡No manches! ¡Felicidades! ¿Cuándo empiezas?», «El lunes. Y mi familia y yo nos mudamos a Monterrey el mes que viene.», «¡Qué emoción! ¡Estoy muy feliz por ti!». After that, swap roles. Say the friend's lines first, then the news-sharing lines. Check your answers below.

    Common questions

Do I need to invent new sentences to share good news?

No. This workshop uses only the recorded lines as your speaking models. You practice saying them clearly, choosing the right reaction, and recalling them from memory. When you feel ready, you can slowly add your own details, but the recorded lines give you a strong, correct base.

How do I know which line is for the news-sharing role and which is for the friend?

The news-sharing lines announce something positive, such as «¡Conseguí el trabajo!», «¡Nos mudamos!», «¡Oye! ¡Conseguí el trabajo en la oficina nueva!», and «El lunes. Y mi familia y yo nos mudamos a Monterrey el mes que viene.». The friend's lines react with surprise, congratulations, or support, such as «¡Qué buena noticia!», «¡Felicidades!», «¡No manches! ¡Felicidades! ¿Cuándo empiezas?», and «¡Qué emoción! ¡Estoy muy feliz por ti!». Practice the exchange in order, then swap roles so you can say both sides confidently.
