In this workshop you will practice a short morning conversation in Japanese. You will hear model lines about waking up, eating breakfast, leaving home, and going to work or the office. You will first listen and repeat, then choose the correct reply, and finally recall the lines with the correct roles. The recordings give you clear examples, and the tasks help you use them in a simple exchange.
Morning Actions and Times
Start by listening to the model lines about morning actions. The first line says that the speaker wakes up at seven every morning «私は毎朝七時に起きます。». The next line says that the speaker then goes to work «それから、仕事に行きます。». Another line says that the speaker leaves home at eight thirty «八時半に家を出ます。». One more line says that the speaker goes to the office by train «電車で会社へ行きます。». Notice the order: wake up, then go to work. Also notice that leaving home and going to the office can appear together. These lines give you useful patterns for talking about your own morning.
Asking and Answering About Time
Now listen to a short exchange. Speaker A asks what time you wake up every morning «毎朝、何時に起きますか。». Speaker B answers that they usually wake up at six thirty and then eat breakfast at seven «たいてい六時半に起きます。 . Next, Speaker A asks what time you leave home «何時に家を出ますか。». Speaker B answers that they leave home at eight and go to the office by train «八時に家を出て、電車で会社へ行きます。». In this exchange, A asks the questions and B gives the answers. The times are different from the first set, so listen carefully. You can play both roles when you practice.
Listen once, then say the phrase yourself. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.

What time do you wake up every morning?
I usually wake up at six thirty. Then I eat breakfast at seven.
What time do you leave home?
I leave home at eight and go to the office by train.Your turn
Try each prompt out loud. Choose a guided start, the full sequence, or a challenge pass after your first attempt.
Guided Exchange: Ask and Answer
You will play both roles in a short morning conversation. Use the recorded dialogue lines as your model. First, listen to Speaker A's questions and Speaker B's answers.
Your task: Play the role of Speaker A. Ask the two questions from the recorded dialogue: «毎朝、何時に起きますか。» . Then play the role of Speaker B. Answer with the two recorded replies: «たいてい六時半に起きます。 . Repeat the exchange two times. You can pause the audio after each line and copy the rhythm and intonation.
Reply Comprehension: Choose the Correct Answer
In this task you will hear a question and choose the correct reply from the recordings. The question is «毎朝、何時に起きますか。». Two possible replies are «たいてい六時半に起きます。 . Only one fits the question about waking up.
Your task: Listen to the question «毎朝、何時に起きますか。». Then listen to both replies. Choose the reply that answers the question about waking up every morning. Say your choice out loud. Then listen again and check.
Recall with Correct Roles
Now practice recalling the lines without looking at the text. You will use the same roles: Speaker A asks, and Speaker B answers. The questions are «毎朝、何時に起きますか。» .
Your task: First, say the two questions from memory. Then say the two answers from memory. Try to keep the correct order: wake-up question, wake-up answer, leaving-home question, leaving-home answer. After you finish, listen to the recordings and compare.
Common questions
Can I practice alone if I am a beginner?
Yes. You can play both roles by pausing the audio after each line. First copy Speaker A, then copy Speaker B. Repeat the same exchange until the times and actions feel natural. The recordings give you clear models, so you do not need a partner to start.
What should I focus on first: speed or accuracy?
Focus on accuracy first. Say the correct times and actions clearly, even if you speak slowly. After you can repeat the lines correctly, try to match the speed of the recording. This order helps you build a strong habit before you try to speak quickly.
