This workshop helps you handle a simple package pickup counter in Chinese. You will practice asking whether a package has arrived, saying you are there to collect it, giving your name and pickup code, and understanding what the staff member asks you to do next. The recordings give you short, realistic lines you can repeat aloud. Work through the guided exchange first, then the reply comprehension task, and finally the recall task where you switch roles.

    Asking About a Package

Start with the question you would ask when you walk up to a counter or call a service desk. «有我的包裹吗?» means "Is there a package for me?" or "Has a package arrived for me?" It is a general way to ask whether something is waiting for you. «我的包裹到了吗?» means "Has my package arrived?" This version makes "my package" the subject, so it sounds a little more specific. «你好,有我的包裹吗?» means "Hello, is there a package for me?" and adds a greeting before the question. Practice saying each line slowly, then at a natural speed. Keep your tone polite and your voice clear, especially at the end of the question.

    Saying Why You Are There

When you already know you need to collect something, you can state your purpose directly. «我来取包裹。» means "I'm here to pick up a package." This is useful at a front desk, a mailroom, or a pickup point. After that, the staff member may ask for information. In the recorded dialogue, the staff member says «请告诉我你的名字和取件码。», which means "Please tell me your name and pickup code." You can recognize this line when someone says it to you. In a real pickup scene, the staff member often needs your name and code before finding the package.

Giving Your Details and Following Instructions

Once the staff member is ready to help, they may ask for your details. In the recorded dialogue, the staff member says «请告诉我你的名字和取件码。», which means "Please tell me your name and pickup code." You respond with your name and code. «我叫王明,取件码是1234。» means "My name is Wang Ming, the pickup code is 1234." This shows the order: name first, then pickup code. After that, the staff member may ask for identification. «好的,请出示身份证。» means "Okay, please show your ID." Listen for the word for ID and be ready to show it. In this workshop, use the name and code from the recording when you practice, so you are not inventing new information.

    Hear the phrases in context

Listen once, then say the phrase yourself. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.

    1

    Guided Counter Exchange

Imagine you are at a package pickup counter. One person plays the customer and one person plays the staff member. If you are alone, read both roles aloud, but keep the order of the lines.

Your task: Customer: say «你好,有我的包裹吗?». Staff: say «请告诉我你的名字和取件码。». Customer: say «我叫王明,取件码是1234。». Staff: say «好的,请出示身份证。». Then swap roles and repeat the same order.

    2

    Understand the Staff Reply

You are the customer. The staff member says one line, and you choose the best response from the options. Read the staff line aloud first, then choose.

Your task: Staff says «请告诉我你的名字和取件码。». Choose the correct customer reply: A) «我叫王明,取件码是1234。» B) «好的,请出示身份证。». Staff says «好的,请出示身份证。». Choose the correct customer action: A) Give your name and pickup code again. B) Show your ID.

    3

    Recall and Role Swap

Cover the lines or look away from the page. You will recall the exchange from memory, then swap roles. The order of the conversation stays the same even when you change who speaks.

Your task: With a partner, perform the exchange from memory: customer asks about a package, staff asks for name and pickup code, customer gives name and pickup code, staff asks for ID. Then swap roles and perform the same order again. If you are alone, say both roles aloud from memory.

    Common questions

Can I use my own name and pickup code in the practice?

For this workshop, use the name and pickup code from the recording so you are practicing the exact line. In a real situation, you would replace them with your own details, but here the goal is to become comfortable with the recorded pattern.

What should I do if I do not understand the staff member?

Ask the staff member to repeat the line slowly. You can also point to your pickup code or ID if you have it ready. The important thing is to keep the order: ask about the package, give your name and code when asked, and show your ID when asked.
