In this workshop you will practice a short, polite toast in Chinese. You will greet the guests, ask for permission to speak, propose a toast to cooperation, offer good wishes, and respond as a listener. Each native line is shown with its English meaning before you practice it, so you always know what you are saying and hearing.
Greet the guests and ask to speak
A toast often starts by greeting the guests. The line «各位来宾，大家好。» means "Distinguished guests, hello everyone." After the greeting, the speaker asks for permission to speak. The line «请允许我代表公司讲几句话。» means "Please allow me to say a few words on behalf of the company." In a real event, the host or audience may accept with a short reply. The line «好的，请讲。» means "Certainly, please go ahead." Notice the order: greet first, then ask to speak, then wait for the reply. When you practice, say the greeting clearly and pause briefly before the request. The reply is short and polite, so keep it calm and simple.
Propose a toast and give good wishes
After the reply, the speaker proposes the toast. The line «我提议，为我们的合作干杯。» means "I propose a toast to our cooperation." Then the speaker adds good wishes. The line «祝大家身体健康、工作顺利。» means "I wish everyone good health and smooth work." These two lines often go together in a short toast. When you say them, keep the same subject and activity: you are proposing a toast and wishing everyone well. Do not switch to a different topic. The listener can then respond by inviting everyone to drink. The line «来，我们一起举杯！干杯！» means "Come, let's raise our glasses together! Cheers!" This reply fits after the wishes, not before the greeting.
Put the toast together in order
A full short toast can follow this order: greet, ask to speak, wait for the reply, propose the toast, give wishes, and hear the cheers. The line «各位来宾，大家好。请允许我代表公司讲几句话。» combines the greeting and the request: "Distinguished guests, hello everyone. Please allow me to say a few words on behalf of the company." The line «我提议，为我们的合作干杯。祝大家身体健康、工作顺利。» combines the toast and the wishes: "I propose a toast to our cooperation. I wish everyone good health and smooth work." When you practice with a partner, one person can be the speaker and the other can be the responder. If you swap roles, the order of the exchange stays the same: greeting and request, reply, toast and wishes, cheers. The responder does not begin with cheers before the speaker has proposed the toast.
Listen once, then say the phrase yourself. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.

Guided toast exchange
You are at a company event. You will play the speaker. Your partner will play the responder. Read your lines in order and let your partner read the reply and the cheers.
Your task: Say the greeting and the request to speak: «各位来宾，大家好。请允许我代表公司讲几句话。». Wait for your partner to say the reply: «好的，请讲。». Then say the toast and the wishes: «我提议，为我们的合作干杯。祝大家身体健康、工作顺利。». Finally, listen as your partner says the cheers: «来，我们一起举杯！干杯！».
Choose the right reply
You are the responder at the event. The speaker has just said the greeting and asked to speak. You need to choose a suitable reply from the two options below.
Your task: The speaker says: «各位来宾，大家好。请允许我代表公司讲几句话。». Which reply fits? Option A: «好的，请讲。». Option B: «来，我们一起举杯！干杯！». Choose A or B, then say your chosen line aloud.
Recall the toast in the correct roles
You and your partner will now recall the whole short toast without looking at the lines. One person is the speaker and the other is the responder. Keep the same order as before.
Your task: The speaker begins with the greeting and request: «各位来宾，大家好。请允许我代表公司讲几句话。». The responder gives the reply: «好的，请讲。». The speaker gives the toast and wishes: «我提议，为我们的合作干杯。祝大家身体健康、工作顺利。». The responder gives the cheers: «来，我们一起举杯！干杯！». Try to say each line from memory.
Common questions
Can I practice alone if I do not have a partner?
Yes. You can play both roles yourself. Say the speaker lines «各位来宾，大家好。请允许我代表公司讲几句话。» and «我提议，为我们的合作干杯。祝大家身体健康、工作顺利。», and also say the responder lines «好的，请讲。» and «来，我们一起举杯！干杯！». Keep the order the same: greeting and request, reply, toast and wishes, cheers. You can also listen to the available recordings for the listed lines and repeat after them.
