In this workshop you practise a short hotel booking conversation in Chinese. You will learn how to say you want to book a room, how to name a single or double room, how to say how many nights you are staying, and how to understand the price when staff reply. Each native example comes from the recordings, and you will use them in guided speaking, listening choices, and a final recall task.
Starting the booking and choosing a room
The first useful line is «我想订一个房间。», which means "I'd like to book a room." Use it when you arrive at a hotel or call the front desk. If you want to be a little more complete, you can open with «你好,我想订一个房间。», which means "Hello, I'd like to book a room." After that, the staff member may ask which room type you want. The question in «好的,您要单人间还是双人间?» means "Okay, would you like a single room or a double room?" To answer, you can name the room type directly. «单人间» means "Single room," and «双人间» means "Double room." Practise saying each room type clearly, then put it into a full sentence when you are ready.
Saying the number of nights and understanding the price
After you choose a room, you often need to say how long you are staying. «住两晚。» means "For two nights." You can add it after your room choice, as in «我要一个双人间,住两晚。», which means "I'd like a double room for two nights." When the staff member accepts, you may hear a price. «没问题。一晚三百元。» means "No problem. It's 300 yuan per night." Listen for the number and the word for each night. In this conversation, the staff member first asks the room-type question in «好的,您要单人间还是双人间?», then the guest answers with «我要一个双人间,住两晚。», and finally the staff member gives the price in «没问题。一晚三百元。». Keep the order: question, answer, then price.
Listen once, then say the phrase yourself. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.

你好,我想订一个房间。
Hello, I'd like to book a room.好的,您要单人间还是双人间?
Okay, would you like a single room or a double room?我要一个双人间,住两晚。
I'd like a double room for two nights.没问题。一晚三百元。
No problem. It's 300 yuan per night.Your turn
Try each prompt out loud. Choose a guided start, the full sequence, or a challenge pass after your first attempt.
Guided booking exchange
You are at a hotel front desk. You play the guest. A partner or the audio plays the staff member. Use only the lines you have practised.
Your task: Greet the staff member and say you would like to book a room. When you hear the room-type question, choose a double room and say you want it for two nights. Then listen for the price.
Choose the right reply
Read the staff question and choose the guest answer that fits. The staff question is «好的,您要单人间还是双人间?», which means "Okay, would you like a single room or a double room?"
Your task: Which guest line is the correct answer: «单人间», «我要一个双人间,住两晚。», or «没问题。一晚三百元。»? Say your choice aloud, then say the full answer.
Recall the conversation with correct roles
Now recall the whole booking scene. One person is the guest and one person is the staff member. If you are alone, you can play both roles with the audio.
Your task: Guest: greet and ask to book a room. Staff: ask single or double. Guest: choose a double room for two nights. Staff: say no problem and give the price per night. Keep the same order as the recordings.
Common questions
Do I need to say the price line myself?
No. The price line «没问题。一晚三百元。» is the staff reply, which means "No problem. It's 300 yuan per night." As the guest, you mainly need to understand it. You can practise saying it aloud to get used to the sound, but in the booking scene it belongs to the staff member.
Can I use a single room instead of a double room?
Yes. «单人间» means "Single room," and «双人间» means "Double room." If you choose a single room, you can still add the number of nights, as in the pattern of «我要一个双人间,住两晚。». The staff question «好的,您要单人间还是双人间?» offers both choices, so either room type is fine for practice.
