You can also use the single food words in «面条» for noodles and «饺子» for dumplings. Practice the question and one answer together, then swap roles. Keep your voice calm and your rhythm even.
Listen for two foods in one reply
A longer reply can mention more than one food. In the dialogue, speaker A asks the question with «你最喜欢吃什么？», which means "What is your favorite food?" Speaker B answers with «我最喜欢吃饺子。», which means "My favorite food is dumplings." Then speaker A says «我也喜欢吃饺子。你喜欢吃面条吗？», which means "I also like eating dumplings. Do you like eating noodles?" Speaker B replies with «喜欢，但是我最喜欢吃饺子。», which means "Yes, I like them, but my favorite food is dumplings." How do I know which food is the favorite in a longer reply?
Listen for the food word that comes with the favorite pattern. In «喜欢，但是我最喜欢吃饺子。», the speaker agrees about noodles but then names dumplings as the favorite. The favorite is the food that is singled out at the end, not simply the food that is liked.
Can I practice both roles if I am alone?
