이 택배 배송 조회할 수 있어요?

    Can I track this package?

i taekbae baesong johoehal su isseoyo?

General polite question. Use when speaking to a staff member or on the phone. 이 (i) means 'this'; 택배 (taekbae) is a delivery package. 배송 조회 (baesong johoe) is the natural verb phrase for tracking a delivery.

    운송장 번호를 알려 주세요.

Please tell me the tracking number.

    unsongjang beonhoreul allyeo juseyo.

Polite request. 운송장 번호 (unsongjang beonho) is the standard term for a tracking number. Use at a counter or in a chat.

    배송 조회가 가능한가요?

    Is delivery tracking available?

    baesong johoega ganeunghanayo?

Slightly more formal. 배송 조회 (baesong johoe) means 'delivery tracking' or 'shipment inquiry'. Good for official customer service.

    제 택배 어디에 있는지 알 수 있을까요?

Could I find out where my package is?

je taekbae eodie inneunji al su isseulkkayo?

Softer, more indirect request. Use when you want to sound especially polite or when asking a favor.

    택배가 아직 안 왔어요.

    The package hasn't arrived yet.

    taekbaega ajik an wasseoyo.

Use this to explain the problem before asking for tracking help. 아직 (ajik) means 'yet'; 안 왔어요 (an wasseoyo) means 'hasn't come'.

Pronunciation guides are approximate. Slow playback keeps the original pitch.

    Make it make sense

    Useful pattern

The pattern -(으)ㄹ 수 있어요? means 'Can you / is it possible to...?' Attach it to a verb stem. For 조회하다 (johoehada, to look up/check), the stem is 조회하- and becomes 조회할 수 있어요? (johoehal su isseoyo?). For possible, use 가능한가요? (ganeunghanayo?) after a noun: 배송 조회가 가능한가요? (baesong johoega ganeunghanayo?). To ask for a number politely, use 알려 주세요 (allyeo juseyo, please tell me). Example: 운송장 번호를 알려 주세요. (unsongjang beonhoreul allyeo juseyo.)

    When to use it

Use these phrases when you are at a convenience store counter, calling a delivery company, or chatting with an online seller. If you are the sender, you might say 이 택배 배송 조회할 수 있어요? (i taekbae baesong johoehal su isseoyo?) to ask if tracking is available. If you are the receiver, say 제 택배 어디에 있는지 알 수 있을까요? (je taekbae eodie inneunji al su isseulkkayo?) to ask where your package is. For written inquiries, 배송 조회가 가능한가요? (baesong johoega ganeunghanayo?) is clear and polite.

    A conversation you could have

Listen to each line, then take one part and reply out loud.

네, 조회해 드릴게요. 잠시만 기다려 주세요.

Yes, I'll check it for you. Please wait a moment.ne, johoehae deurilgeyo. jamsiman gidaryeo juseyo.

A little context goes a long way

In Korean customer service, using -아/어 주세요 (a/eo juseyo) or -ㄹ 수 있을까요? (-l su isseulkkayo?) sounds more polite than a direct command. When asking for a tracking number, say 운송장 번호를 알려 주세요 rather than just 운송장 번호. Also, 택배 usually refers to domestic parcel delivery, while 국제 택배 (gukje taekbae) means international parcel. Using the right term helps staff understand your request quickly.

    One thing to watch for

Using 추적 번호 (chujeok beonho) for 'tracking number'.

Try this instead: The standard Korean term is 운송장 번호 (unsongjang beonho). 추적 번호 is understandable but not common in delivery contexts. Say 운송장 번호를 알려 주세요. (unsongjang beonhoreul allyeo juseyo.)

    Your turn

Try answering out loud before checking a possible answer.

1How do you ask 'Can I track this package?' politely in Korean?

    Show a sample answer

이 택배 배송 조회할 수 있어요?

This uses the pattern -(으)ㄹ 수 있어요? with 조회하다. You can also say 이 택배 추적할 수 있어요? (i taekbae chujeokhal su isseoyo?), which is understandable but less common in delivery contexts.

2What is the Korean term for 'tracking number'?

    Show a sample answer

    운송장 번호

운송장 번호 (unsongjang beonho) is the standard term. Some people say 송장 번호 (songjang beonho) in casual speech, but 운송장 번호 is safest for customer service.

3Translate into Korean: 'The package hasn't arrived yet.'

    Show a sample answer

    택배가 아직 안 왔어요.

This uses 아직 (ajik, yet) and 안 왔어요 (an wasseoyo, hasn't come). You could also say 택배가 아직 도착하지 않았어요. (taekbaega ajik dochakhaji anasseoyo.), which is more formal.

    Take this with you

To track a package in Korean, remember the key phrase 이 택배 배송 조회할 수 있어요? and always ask for 운송장 번호. Use 알려 주세요 for polite requests and 배송 조회 for tracking status.
